A map of the work
Your recurring workflows by team: volume, systems touched, rules, approvals and the hours they take today.
AI consulting services
An AI consultant helps you decide where AI will pay off in your business and how to get it there. Fixed Labs consults the way operators work: we study your workflows, rank the opportunities by value and effort, price them, and then build the first ones ourselves, so the plan does not stall after the presentation. We work with established businesses doing $5M+ in revenue.

From a CPA firm engagement
For one accounting firm we spent two weeks with the invoicing team, wrote down its billing rules and exceptions, and put invoice preparation on a supervised AI workflow. Across the next three observed weeks it completed 513 invoices at about six minutes each, against the team’s estimate of 15 minutes by hand. Staff still approved every invoice before it went out.
Read how the billing workflow was scopedSpecific enough to act on the week you receive it, and priced so you can decide.
Your recurring workflows by team: volume, systems touched, rules, approvals and the hours they take today.
Each workflow scored on value, effort and risk, so you can see where AI pays back first and where it does not.
Build cost, monthly run cost, timeline and the owner on your side for each step of the next 90 days.
What each workflow would need to access, where human approval stays, and what your IT lead should check.
Which roles change, what your staff need to learn and how we will train them on the systems they will use.
When you are ready, we build the first workflows ourselves and run them, so the roadmap turns into results.
A decision, not a deck. By the end you should know which two or three workflows to automate first, what each will cost to build and run, what it should return and who on your team owns it. You should also know what not to automate yet, and why. If the output is a list of AI ideas with no costs or owners, the engagement has not done its job.
Fixed Labs writes that plan from interviews and system walkthroughs with the people who do the work, not from a survey, and prices each item before you commit to it.
Ask to see something they built that is still running, and ask who will build yours. A firm that builds can describe the integrations, the approval points and what broke in the first month. A firm that only advises describes frameworks. Both have a place, but a mid-market company rarely wants a plan that waits for a second vendor to build it.
An executive sponsor who can decide, one process owner for each team in scope, access to the systems involved and a rough view of where the hours go today. That is enough to start; the assessment fills in the rest.
The plan comes first, within about two weeks. A first workflow can be in production three to six weeks after you approve it.
Week 1
Discovery call with the leader who owns the problem, then interviews and system walkthroughs with the teams doing the work.
Week 2
The ranked, priced plan: which workflows to automate, in what order, what each costs to build and run, and who owns it.
3–6 weeks after approval
The first workflows built in your systems, tested on real cases and live under supervision.

The Fixed Labs Method
A discovery call with the leader who owns the problem, then interviews and system walkthroughs with the teams doing the work.
The plan becomes working software: the first workflows built in your systems and tested on real cases.
We run what is live, measure it against the baseline from discovery and adjust the roadmap with you each month.
If the roadmap is long, a fractional AI team or technical staff keeps it moving.
The difference that matters most is who builds the plan once it is approved.
| Large consultancy | Freelance AI consultant | Fixed Labs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical client | Enterprises | Small businesses | Established businesses doing $5M+ in revenue |
| What you receive | Strategy and a transformation program | Advice or a single automation | A ranked, priced plan, then working systems |
| Who builds it | A separate delivery team or vendor | The freelancer, if they build | The same team that scoped it |
| After launch | A new statement of work | Usually ends | We run and improve it every month |
An AI consultant studies how your business runs, finds the processes where AI can save time or money, and plans how to put it in place: which tools, what it costs, what risks to manage and who owns it. The useful ones also stay to build and measure the result. Fixed Labs does both.
It depends on the size of the operation and how many teams are in scope. Fixed Labs starts with a discovery call and then scopes a fixed-fee assessment; the build that follows is quoted per workflow. You see each price before you commit to it.
Ask for three things: systems they built that are still running, who will do the build (the people in the pitch or a subcontractor), and how they price the work after launch. A firm that cannot show working systems is selling slides.
You need a short, specific plan, not a long strategy document. Start with the two or three workflows that repeat most and cost the most, prove them in production, then expand. Our assessment produces that plan before any build starts.
Hire in-house when you have a steady stream of AI work and someone to manage it. Until then, a consultant or a fractional AI team gets the first systems running sooner and helps you define the role you will eventually hire for.
Your first workflow can be in production about three to six weeks after the plan is approved. We measure it against a baseline taken before launch, such as hours spent, turnaround time or backlog.
